Staying connected in Germany
Telekom, Vodafone and O2 run Germany’s networks, with 1&1 building a fourth. Cities have good 5G; some rural areas and train routes still have weak spots.
- ✓Deutsche Bahn ICE trains have Wi-Fi, but mobile signal can drop between cities.
- ✓Many shops prefer cash or card, but you will need data for tickets in the DB Navigator app.
- ✓Coverage on the autobahns is generally good.

It needs eSIM support and must not be carrier-locked. Look for “Add eSIM” in your phone’s mobile or cellular settings.
When does my plan start?
Each plan says whether its days start at installation or when you first connect in Germany. Check before installing early.
Can I add more data?
Yes. Use the top-up link in your order email, or sign in and open My eSIMs.
